Arroz i Peix

One of the first restaurants we noticed upon moving to Girona, the window of Arroz i Peix is impossible to miss. Just inside, a fishmonger's ice counter is covered in wiggling lobsters, fresh fish and mountains of clams and mussels. If you're into seafood, this is the place to go. 

You'll be greeted at the door with a glass of cava to sip while you select your fish for the meal. Meals are priced by the weight of fish, and you can choose how it is prepared. Go with whatever is seasonal and recommended, but this place is great if you want to be picky about your food... want it grilled instead of fried? They'll do it. 

The last time we went we had two starter plates and two mains, all shared. To start we had some gambas (prawns) and calamari. So fresh the fish almost tastes sweet. For mains we had a sea bass and a classic paella with mixed seafood. It was delicious and amazing.
