Bike Breaks

Bike Breaks (aka Girona Cycling Centre) is tucked away in the old town one road behind the Rambla, owned and run by British downhill ex-pro Dave Walsh and his wife Saskia. While the shop is mainly a rentals business, they offer servicing, guiding, transfer services, GPS/Garmin rentals, and help with hotel bookings in town, should you need it. It's also one of the best places in town if you're looking to buy a bit of cycling memorabilia.

They cater to a wide range of rental customers, including more casual town bikes, gravel bikes, high quality road bikes for sport riders and a couple of e-bikes. Almost all their rentals are Cannondale which are replaced new each year.

Being an ex-pro mountain-biker, Dave is a great resource for knowledge about local trails and events, including their own 'Girona Festival of Cycling' which happens each year in June including a sportive and a really awesome urban downhill race, definitely a highlight to watch!

If you happen to be staying in the old town and need your bike washed, they also have a neat washing facility in the back of their shop. I've definitely appreciated this from time to time after a muddy trailfest!

In the summer of 2017 Bike Breaks opened a dedicated kit-shop just across the square from the main shop, selling collectible pro-kit, souvenirs and other Girona cycling memorability. You can find their kit available online as well.

They're open most days but not on Sundays and some holidays. They're shut for a couple hours every afternoon (like a good Spanish business would be), and their workshop is usually quite busy with servicing, so it's worth calling in advance for bookings and service.  +34972205465
